Celebrating Innovation, Scientific Thinking & the Changemakers of Tomorrow
Nitin Tailor was honoured to be invited as a Judge at CATALYST 3.0, the Inter-School Futuristic Exhibition organised by Rungta Vidya Bhavan, Bharuch. The event brought together young minds from across the region to showcase their creativity, scientific thinking and innovative solutions to real-world challenges.
With 80+ schools, 150+ innovative projects and 300+ young innovators, CATALYST 3.0 was a wonderful celebration of curiosity, imagination and the power of young people to shape a better future.
A Gathering of Visionaries and Future Innovators
The occasion was graced by distinguished guests, including:
- Mr. Ramesh Mistry, Hon’ble MLA, Bharuch
- Dr. Srijanpal Singh, CEO of Homi Lab and former advisor to Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
- Prof. Vishal Doshi, Head of the Electrical Department, Government Engineering College, Bharuch
Their presence added inspiration and significance to an event dedicated to nurturing the next generation of thinkers, innovators and problem-solvers.
Recalling the Vision of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam
Meeting Dr. Srijanpal Singh, who worked closely with the great visionary Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, brought back fond memories of my own meeting with Dr. Kalam and the invaluable lessons I learned from him. Dr. Kalam always inspired young people to dream big, think differently and work towards transforming those dreams into reality. His life reminds us that education is not merely about acquiring knowledge or securing a successful career. It is about using our knowledge, creativity and abilities to contribute to society and nation-building. That message remains especially relevant today, when India needs young people who can combine scientific knowledge with compassion, ethical values and a strong sense of responsibility.
From Ideas to Impact: The Power of Young Minds
As a judge, it was inspiring to witness the enthusiasm, creativity and innovative thinking demonstrated by students through their projects. Every innovative idea begins with a question: Can we do this differently? Can we make something better? Can we solve a problem that affects people’s lives?
Scientific exhibitions provide students with an opportunity to move beyond textbooks and apply their knowledge to practical challenges. They encourage young innovators to experiment, collaborate, question assumptions and develop confidence in their abilities. Such platforms can help nurture future scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs and social innovators who will contribute to India’s development.
Gen Z and Gen Alpha: Changemakers of Today
One of my key takeaways from CATALYST 3.0 is that Gen Z and Gen Alpha are not merely the leaders of tomorrow; they are changemakers of today. We must encourage young people to move beyond identifying problems or blaming the system and empower them to develop creative, practical and sustainable solutions.
Instead of asking only, “What is wrong with our society?”, let us also encourage them to ask:
- What problem can I solve?
- How can science and technology improve people’s lives?
- Can my idea help rural communities or protect the environment?
- How can I turn my innovation into a meaningful social impact?
- What can I contribute towards building a developed India?
Innovation becomes truly powerful when it addresses real needs and creates value for society. The goal is not just to create more job seekers, but to nurture problem-solvers, entrepreneurs and responsible citizens.
Education Beyond Classrooms
At Serve Happiness Foundation, I strongly believe that learning becomes more meaningful when it connects knowledge with real-life experiences and social challenges. Along with scientific education, students need opportunities to understand communities, interact with grassroots changemakers, explore local challenges and develop empathy for others. Experiential learning, design thinking, social entrepreneurship and community engagement can help young people understand that even a small idea can make a meaningful difference.
When we combine knowledge with values, innovation with empathy, and ambition with purpose, we prepare young people not only for successful careers but also for responsible citizenship.

Building a Happier, Self-Reliant and Developed India
India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047 will depend significantly on the ideas, skills, creativity and commitment of its young generation. Schools, teachers, parents, institutions and industry must work together to create an environment where young people feel encouraged to ask questions, experiment, learn from failure and pursue their ideas. Every child has potential. Our responsibility is to provide the right opportunities, guidance and encouragement to help that potential flourish.
Don't just teach children to follow the world; encourage them to think, question and create a better one. The future belongs to those who transform challenges into opportunities and ideas into meaningful action. Let us empower our young innovators to build an Atmanirbhar, happier and Viksit Bharat! — Nitin Tailor
My heartfelt gratitude to the management and organising team of Rungta Vidya Bhavan, Bharuch, for inviting me to be part of CATALYST 3.0 and giving me the opportunity to engage with such enthusiastic young innovators.
May these young minds continue to dream fearlessly, think creatively and develop solutions that make our world happier, healthier and more sustainable.
