Narmada Prerna Yatra Coming Soon

Narmada Prerna Yatra

Narmada Prerna Yatra – a 4 day excursion across the Narmada Valley to meet various role models and find oneself (even in fragments) along this journey is our flagship product. We have also launched the Grameen Yuva Edition of the same to inspire the rural youth towards creating smaller enterprises to benefit their community at large. In addition, we also keep connecting the youth with other NGOs to create a sort of mutually beneficial proposition for both of them.

We believe our yatra model is unique for it is deep into the travels that an individual gets to know not only of his strengths/weaknesses but has a profound effect on his overall thought process, perceptions, peacefulness and happiness. We are the first ones to come up with an initiative of this kind in the unexplored Narmada Valley. We firmly believe that after experiencing a 4 day yatra model of ours, the youth gets inspired to undertake lot of smaller initiatives in the social and business spheres.

The 4 day yatra was a journey toward visiting places we haven’t thought, meeting the real heroes, learning a lot and an opportunity to contribute for the good. For me it was the first experience of working towards social betterment. The word rural has taken altogether a new meaning for me after visiting various rural villages. Problems that we never realize while living in an urban locality are the daily challenges faced by the rural citizens. I observed the smiling faces of the rural people in their simple living. Their ‘never say die’ attitude towards their daily challenges is the one thing I have learned from them throughout. This yatra really was an awakening of the inner self, who has always wanted to bring out some change in the society. All in all it was a wonderful experience and a reason to come back again and again. I feel proud to be the part of this yatra and I will definitely bring the change in the society by serving happiness.

Being one of the Yatri, of this Yatra made me to see life from a bit different angle. The group of Yatris included people from varied backgrounds. Although the world moves within a click and it's a global village now, but yet there is a area which faces daily challenges in life and the very thought of living such life, may leave a fearful notion for a moment in us. Yatra had two major perspectives; one was to evolve the entrepreneurship trait in the candidates and another was to have a view point to uplift the rural area. Working of Food Processing, Dairy and Agriculture industries were shown, from manufacturing outlook to throw clarity among the candidates to promote the hidden entrepreneur in them. Network of friends also got widen, and the Yatra left us with a kind of positivity, where we gained the confidence to dare to dream in odds as well. Got the opportunity to see lives of people who have traveled the “Road less taken’ in real sense and they are sustaining with the not so common challenges, with a courage to smile.

It is rightly said that a river is like a Mother and has the ability to inspire our body, awaken our mind and enlighten our soul through its courageous journey encompassing an unending flow from its source to it's final destination braving boulders, rocks, pollution and so many obstacles along the way! A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step - this was without an iota of doubt - the first one !

Certainly, travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. Narmada Prerna Yatra was first experience for me to understand this change through various perspectives of people on finding purpose in life. From dawn to dusk, opening horizons of humanitarian possibilities by meeting the pioneers who paved the pathway. A dream doesn't become reality through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. And NPY made me realize how dreams are achieved in reality. Hard work, persuasion, consistent struggle and belief in self brings dreams to reality. Meeting mentors and leaders in the field of education, health care, social work, sustainable livelihood, renewable sources of energy, agriculture and technology taught me there are so many unconventional ways by which a healthy life style can be adopted and a living with respect and values can be earned. It was different from "normal" school of teaching which tells youth to get degrees and join the league of earning by jobs or business. The first step toward change is awareness. The second step is acceptance. Happiness can only exist in acceptance. And this journey taught me about human values, patience, endurance and acceptance.

Narmada Prerna Yatra is an awesome experience in my life. It was my first expedition to this type of social and educational yatra. This yatra is an interaction between rural & urban society. We had visited many places like, small & backward villages, schools of backward areas, SEWA rural NGO; small and medium entrepreneurship plans and last but not the least natural eco tourism sites. Meeting and group discussion with school teachers, NGO founders, staff and workers, leaders from social entrepreneurial industries was major part of this yatra that has created a flow of new ideas and energy within the all yatris. We had participated in “Swachata Abhiyan” at Vishalkhadi EcoTourism sites by cleaning the beautiful island which was a great experience for me also. I had enjoyed Narmada Prerna Yatra with enthusiasm and feel very lucky to become part of this Yatra.

Being in the medical field, the only people I used to meet and the only interactions I used to have with were people of the health sector. I wanted to meet new people, explore other sectors and even understand the problems faced by people living in the interiors. Narmada Prerna Yatra gave me the best platform for it. I met people from different backgrounds, people from various sectors like agriculture, education, sanitation, people who are doing so much for the betterment of our society. The visits to all role models in the span of 4 days was in itself an inspiring story. I came to know how actually we can materialize our work in such a manner that it can be helpful to eradicate social issues. In the end I returned home with wonderful memories & learning from the Yatra which will help me evolve as a better person.

They say “Don’t look for happiness, create it”. And this is exactly where my pursuit led me; on a three day venture into the woods and farms of the unmapped rural locales of Gujarat. The paradise of smiling faces, creative mindsets and motivated souls. In the process of give and take, I am filled with love and a broader perspective; introducing simplicity into my being. My services to the institute of happiness as a writer has given me insights into the knowledge of farming and its significance that I, as a city girl, would have never understood if it wasn’t for Nitin Tailor and blazing smiles of the rural children.
